I was born in Vernon, Texas and have lived there my entire life.  My parents are Beth and Danny Shivers, of Vernon, and Kirk Sullivan, of Burleson.  My grandparents are Charles and Marion Lynn, also of Vernon, and Doris Sullivan, of Quanah and the late Rex Sullivan.  I went to school in Vernon until the second grade.  I attended Northside School from the third grade until the middle of my seventh grade year.  I was in the eighth grade when the new Middle School was built and I remember having to carry chairs and books from Intermediate into the new building.  I went on to graduate from Vernon High School and then, Vernon College.  After Vernon College, I attended and graduated from Midwestern State University, Magna Cum Laude.  I am still a student at Midwestern State University working on my Master of Arts degree in Counseling.  I worked at North Texas State Hospital teaching Mental Illness and Substance Abuse prior to beginning my career in the school education field.  I just completed my second year of teaching at the Middle School and look forward to many more years changing lives, one child at a time!

I am also the proud mother of two boys, Brayden, 5, and Austin, 4.  They are such precious angels.  When I am not teaching and being taught, the remainder of my days are spent with them and my husband, Joe.  Joe is a rehab therapist technician at North Texas State Hospital.  All three of the boys enjoy hunting, fishing, and playing in the backyard with our Border Colley, Molly.  We also have three cats, Pinky, Tiger, and Grayie.  As a family we love to take walks, work on art projects, read, and play school.  Usually, Joe and I do the walking, while pulling Brayden and Austin in the wagon!
